Meme Monday: March Madness

With the college basketball season coming closer to an end, I figured it would be appropriate to post this.

I mean, I cannot be the only one that agrees with this meme, right... ? Guys... ?

A Fountain of Youth: San Antonio's Way

San Antonio's Big Three, credit to:
wagesofwins.com
When Juan Ponce de Leon went on search for the fountain of youth he obviously searched in the wrong spot.  Where he should have searched is San Antonio, Texas.  As one of the oldest teams in the NBA it can lead a person to ask how do they keep winning?  With three of their stars over the age of 31 (which to me for the NBA seems pretty old) they shouldn't be making the playoffs every year.  However they manage to make it every year.  Keep in mind throughout this that the average retirement age for an NBA player is 35 years.

Square One, Again

For those living in under a rock in the basketball world, All-Star Saturday Night was last night and all in all, it was a pretty good event.

Besides the main event, the biggest reason why most fans come out to watch the event, the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest.

Meme Monday: Josh Smith

Even though Josh Smith might have signed with Detroit after this dunk by Kobe, it is still hilarious to look at.  Enjoy this meme as it is "Meme Monday" or at least that is what I like to call it anyway.

A Boston Rebuild?

The Boston Celtics are one of the most successful franchises in sports history.  Since 1946, the year the team was founded, the Celtics have accomplished more than any other team.  The team has had forty-nine .500 or better seasons in its 68 years in the league, 21 division titles, 21 conference titles, and 17 championships (the most of any team).  The team has seen legendary players (Bill Russell, Robert Parrish, Larry Bird, Bob Cousy, Kevin McHale, John Havlicek, and Bill Sharman), had legendary coaches (Red Auerbach, K.C. Jones, and Doc Rivers), and had All-Star players Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen together just two years ago.  The current star of the team is starting point guard Rajon Rondo, which anybody who watches or follows basketball knows that.  He is a defensive force and efficient passer, but enough of what you probably already know.  Let’s get to the good stuff.

Manny "Get Buckets" Harris

While many would just say "forget it" or just quit on their dreams or aspirations in life, Manny Harris is one that does not believe in such things.
Harris, number 6, versus LAL in the
2010-2011 season.
Manny Harris was let go by the Los Angeles Lakers, whom are digging themselves into a deep and deeper hole as each game passes, on February 4th.  The Laker team seemed to have gotten healthier, despite them having two players get hurt that same night as two others returned, Harris had a chance to show his worth.  Before the game Harris was told that the Lakers were letting him go after the game as his second ten-day contract had expired.
